A million and one different things can go wrong with commercial doors especially hollow metal doors or aluminum store front doors. Not to say that replacing the door is not sometimes the cheaper option. When you deal with Lucky Lock and Door to do installations or repairs on any of your facilities or projects in the Atlanta metro area you’ll get a permanent solution rather than a temporary fix.

Commercial doors that drag.

We see a lot of commercial doors that drag the floor or make contact with the door frame this is normally caused by either a settling of foundation, or a failing hinge or frame. One solution that we use a lot of are continuous hinges this product is not a temporary fix. Once They continuous hinge installed that door is only going where it’s supposed to go. There will be no dragging, rubbing, or contact where there shouldn’t be.

Doors that slam violently or closers that are dripping hydraulic fluid.

Commercial doors are heavy they’re close has to be controlled or people can break fingers and hands and cause damage to door frames and structures.

This speed of the door closing is controlled by a door closer. There are many different types of door closers there are

Surface mounted door closers:

which you can see at the top of the door on a commercial door. When these closures fail they tend to either slam or barely close or they will develop a very large pause in the close or they’ll just start dripping all over the place. Replacing these door closers does not involve uninstalling the door and then reinstalling the door.

Concealed overhead closers:

which are usually mounted with inside of the header over the door, and are not visible to the naked eye. These can be troublesome and expensive to replace but if you ignore them long enough the whole door can fall off and depending on the weight of the door could potentially kill someone. Most concealed overhead closures require the door to be taken down during a replacement, and then reinstalled once the closer has been replaced.

Floor mounted closures:

These closures are mounted in the ground under the pivot or hinge of the door when these have to be replaced most of the time it involves removing the door completely and then reinstalling the door once the part is replaced.

locks that simply do not function

Often times door problems are mistaken for simple lock problems. Not to say that all of them are inexpensive fixes but most of the time they are far less expensive to repair than door replacement. One of our greatest assets at Lucky Lock and Door is that we not only work on doors, but we also work on locks. Where as most lock companies do not work on doors and most door companies do not work on locks. So we offer kind of the best of both worlds.
